What does the session fee include?
Your session fee covers photographer time, on-set creative direction, and the number of fully retouched digital images specified per tier. It does not include studio rental, hair & makeup, wardrobe styling, travel, licensing, or additional retouching beyond the stated deliverable count — those are quoted and invoiced separately. A written scope of work is provided at booking confirmation.
What are the payment terms and cancellation policy?
A non-refundable 50% retainer is required at booking to secure your date. The remaining balance is due no later than 48 hours prior to your session. Cancellations made more than 7 days before the session may be rescheduled once at no charge. Cancellations within 7 days forfeit the retainer. No-shows forfeit the full session fee. All payments are final unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Who owns the images? What can I do with them?
JarinV retains full copyright ownership of all images under U.S. copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.). Upon delivery, clients receive a limited non-exclusive personal use license — social sharing and personal printing. Any commercial, editorial, advertising, or brand use requires a separate licensing agreement and fee. Unauthorized commercial use constitutes copyright infringement and may result in legal action and statutory damages. Packages marked "licensing included" carry a defined commercial use license scoped to digital and social placements for one year. Broader usage — regional, national, or perpetual — is available as a licensing add-on.
Does JarinV use client images for portfolio or marketing?
By engaging JarinV, you grant permission for delivered images to appear in portfolio, website, social media, and marketing materials. If you require full confidentiality — common for commercial clients with pre-launch campaigns — a written confidentiality agreement must be executed before the shoot date. Verbal requests are not binding.
How and when are images delivered?
Final retouched images are delivered within 7–10 business days via a private, password-protected online gallery. Gallery links expire after 90 days — you are responsible for downloading and backing up your files within that window. JarinV is not liable for image loss after gallery expiration. Rush delivery (48–72 hours) is available for an additional fee and must be requested at booking.
Can I request specific edits or more retouched images?
Each tier includes a defined number of fully retouched selects. Additional selects, alternate edits, composite work, or background replacements are available at a per-image fee quoted at delivery. JarinV retains full creative control over retouching style and approach unless otherwise agreed in writing before the session.
Do you travel for shoots?
Yes. JarinV has worked on location in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Sedona, London, Greenville SC, and Colorado. Destination sessions are available worldwide. Travel fees — including transportation, lodging, and per diem — are quoted separately and added to the session invoice. A travel addendum is executed before any out-of-market engagement. How does video production pricing work?
Production day rates cover Director/DP labor and the standard gear package for principal photography. Pre-production (treatment, storyboard, scheduling, casting) and post-production (edit, color grade, sound mix, delivery) are quoted separately based on project scope. For multi-day projects, pre-production is included. We provide a formal written estimate before any engagement — no surprises on invoice.
Do you provide crew or just solo direction?
JarinV operates as Director/DP on single-operator productions — which is standard for brand films, commercial content, and documentary work at this tier. For larger productions requiring a gaffer, grip, sound mixer, AC, or additional camera operators, we coordinate crew through our production network. Additional crew is quoted per head and itemized on the production estimate.
What format are deliverables in?
All productions shoot in 4K or 6K cinema RAW or log-encoded formats for maximum post-production latitude. Final deliverables are exported to spec — broadcast (ProRes/H.264 at broadcast standards), web (H.264/H.265 optimized), and social platform specs (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) as needed. Deliverable specs are confirmed during pre-production.
Wardrobe guidance — what should clients wear?
After booking you'll receive a session prep guide with wardrobe direction specific to your session type. Generally: solid colors, intentional layers, pieces that feel authentically like you. Avoid large logos, heavy patterns, or brand-new unworn clothing. We align on wardrobe in your pre-session call, typically 48–72 hours before your session.
What if something goes wrong on shoot day?
In the event of equipment failure, medical emergency, or force majeure on JarinV' end, the session will be rescheduled at no cost with scheduling priority. JarinV' total liability is limited to the session fee paid — we are not liable for incidental or consequential damages including travel costs, wardrobe, or lost business opportunity. Client-side issues on shoot day are subject to the cancellation policy above.
Is there a model release? What does it cover?
All sessions require a signed model release before or on shoot day. The release grants JarinV the right to use your likeness in portfolio and promotional materials as described above. Sessions involving minors (under 18) require a parent or legal guardian to execute the release. Restricted releases limiting usage are available and must be agreed upon in writing before the session begins — standard releases are non-negotiable on shoot day.
